Situated on a large block the original dwelling was ripe for demolition and redevelopment of three townhouses. However the owner wanted to restore the old Californian Bungalow to its former glory and add a more contemporary addition to house a growing family.

Outcome

Full use of the northerly aspect was utilised in the kitchen, meals and family areas where the family congregates. The extension provided the perfect entertaining area with double sliding doors opening to a large alfresco area; and double French doors opening onto the northern sun deck.

A feature of the family and meals areas is a raised ceiling giving the rooms a free and open feel.
